I have been a professional handweaver/surface design artist for nearly 44 years. I started my career at Handarbetets Vanner in Stockholm, Sweden in 1973 as a tapestry weaver.
In 1975 I started making clothing and there was no going back! I have exhibited in most of the top national shows and sell to many incredible art-to-wear galleries. Its been an incredible journey. I am always pushing the limits of what can be done with handwoven fabrics. Currently, using multiple surface design techniques I add unique images by pleating, stenciling, painting, discharging and dyeing the cotton, rayon and silk fabrics. All pieces are made one at a time in my studio. This newest foray into surface design has given me a heightened sense of creativity which I share with the women who wear my garments.
