I am a mother of 2 children, a self-employed graphic designer, and aspiring jewelry and glass artist. I grew up the eldest of seven children, on a dairy farm in Western Pennsylvania, where I cultivated my lifelong love of nature, art and design. I nurtured that sensibility through the study of concert piano, chemical engineering, fine art, and graphic design – until I was hired out of art school to head the graphics department for Industry.Net. It became one of the first profitable businesses on the Internet - a satisfying career that led me to over 25 years of experience creating brand identities, websites, and communications programs for Fortune 100 firms, high-tech startups, and other businesses.
Always restless and seeking new ways to continuing my artistic journey, I began exploring glass in 2013 and metal in 2014. Starting with lampworked beads and marbles, I soon jumped into metal - both metalsmithing and metal clay, to complement the glass. I was hooked instantly, and fell in love with the infinite possibilities. I began exploring ways to bring my artistic ideas to life, and developed a process to transport my interweaving, swirling and organic designs into dimensional metal forms.
I endeavor to bring a different perspective to metal, by utilizing media not traditionally used in jewelry. With my love of oil painting and metal, I create miniature works of art - not to hang on the wall, but ones you can wear every day.
