A native of Pittsburgh and studio potter who has worked primarily in porcelain for over twenty years. In addition to using the wheel, my clay working methods include slab construction and the decorative use of sculptural elements. I employ lively brushwork and colorful underglaze patterns celebrating my love affair with clay. I continuously explore, and be open to, what the clay is teaching me, and where it may lead me. Valuing the importance of continuing education, I have studied with several different instructors at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts since 1995. I've also taken classes at Fireborn Studios, Community College of Allegheny County, the Union Project and many different workshops at Touchstone Center for Crafts. I teach in my studio and have mentored apprentices. I have taught several short workshops at PCA as well as teaching beginning ceramics for the past 4 years and participate in many regional and out-of-state juried events.
