Karen Krieger is a Pittsburgh-based artist who has created metal jewelry, tableware, and wall pieces. Her work is inspired by the Moorish architecture of southern Spain, the floral imagery of William Morris and the lyricism of Asian art and calligraphy. She studied architecture as an undergraduate at Yale University, and studied metals at Penland (NC) and Haystack (ME). She lives on top of a hill just beyond the three rivers, with her husband David Montgomery, a mixed media artist (www.workingbirds.com), their daughter, and two cats.
