We’re celebrating our 40th year by going green!! In ultimately working towards zero waste, we have taken a number of steps this year to shrink our footprint and promote green projects.

* We used 100% recycled, 100% recyclable paper for our posters and postcards.
* We are implementing recycling and composting at A Fair. All flatware, plates, cups, and napkins at the concessions stand will be made of compostable materials.
* We are offering recycled A Fair merchandise, including 100% recycled t-shirts and tote bags.
* Wherever possible, we partnered with local environmentally-committed businesses and used local materials in our event planning.

You can help too!

Instead of driving to A Fair, you can:

- Ride your bike! Bike valet services will be provided courtesy of Bike Pittsburgh.
- Walk! It’s great exercise.
- Take a pedicab! Green Gears Pedicab will be available for affordable transportation to and from the Fair. Flag them down or call 412-343-PEDI!
- Take a bus! A large number of PAT buses provide service within a quarter mile of A Fair in the Park. Click here for more information.

You can also:

- Bring a bag to carry home the gorgeous pieces of art you purchase.
- Bring a reusable container for your kielbasa and pierogies.
- If you need to drive, offset your ride with a donation to an organization like Carbonfund.org.
- Encourage friends and family to do the same!

Together we can provide greater stewardship for our planet and reduce the environmental impact of A Fair in the Park! If you have any further ideas for greening the Fair, please do write to us at info@craftsmensguild.org.
