2009 is the 40th year of A Fair in the Park, an annual contemporary craft festival, presented by The Craftsmen’s Guild of Pittsburgh. A Fair in the Park is held in the lush surroundings of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Mellon Park, adjacent to the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and along Fifth and Shady Avenues in Pittsburgh’s upscale Shadyside area. This pleasant park setting provides A Fair in the Park with a casual ambiance that makes this one of the most enjoyable shows of the season. Rated one of Sunshine Artists top 100 art shows nationwide, A Fair in the Park features the overall highest quality crafts consistently obtaining a high rating from participants.
In addition to the vast array of art and craft displays and demonstrations, A Fair in the Park features a concert weekend, a children’s activity and project area and a variety of Pittsburgh’s fabulous foods. A Fair in the Park does not charge admission or parking fees to the public. An estimated 25,000+ attend, dedicated customers that enjoy the opportunity to interact with 105 American Craft artists, working in Clay, Fiber, Wood, Jewelry and Beadwork, Glass, Metal and Mixed Media. A Fair in the Park is an opportunity for the whole family to be creatively involved with recognized local and national artists of all mediums.
